About Us
Purpose, structures, behaviors.
The house describes itself in the vocabulary of the system it publishes. A purpose is what we are for. Structures are what we built to serve it. Behaviors are what we do, every time, so the structures keep serving the purpose.
Purpose
Books we can defend line by line
We believe the Christian Bible is true in the intent of its original authors. So we measure and edit every manuscript by its concepts and principles, with an editor who knows the original languages deeply. We would rather lose a manuscript than bend the standard to keep it.
The books teach one system of discernment in the form each reader needs: a picture book, an adventure, a novel, a discipline. A reader can grow up with the house.
Structures
What we built before the first title
- 1
The Editorial Charter
The written standard every title is held to, with its two tiers and three tests. Summarised here.
Adopted by the house - 2
The six gates
Six reviews in order, one owner each, closed only on a dated written record.
Every title - 3
Independent review
The Lead Editor’s findings are protected by written agreement. The Editorial Review Board cannot decide without a reviewer independent of both the family and the company.
By agreement and quorum rule - 4
The imprint

Behaviors
What we do every time
Write it down
A decision that leaves no record is treated as not yet made. Gates close on paper. Reasoning that admitted a contested teaching exists on paper, reviewable and answerable.
Name conduct, never character
In the children’s books and in the fables alike. Every idea is measured against enduring principles, and the reader is trusted to find the lesson inside the story.
Publish when it is ready
Not when a season demands it. Titles are named once their manuscripts are finished, and the catalogue grows slowly on purpose.
The founder
David Fuller
David Fuller is the founder of Poedy Press and the creator of the Paragon Discernment System, a framework for seeing clearly before acting. He brings more than thirty years of leadership experience to the page, including service as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force, a federal civil-service career with the Air Force, the Army, and the Department of Veterans Affairs, and a long practice as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He and his wife, Kathleen, married in 1987, have four children. He writes from New Braunfels, Texas.
The Paragon Discernment System grew out of those years. At the Air Force Manpower Agency, Fuller was chosen to lead the agency’s Lean Six Sigma program across roughly 700 people at seven locations. As chief of one of the Data Analytics Divisions at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from 2018 to 2023, he found the hardest problems were not about data at all: which evidence to trust, when to decide, and how to keep a large organization honest with itself. The system he built in answer organizes discernment into three activities, Explore, Discover, and Express, held in place by two guardrails that never move, Unity and Stewardship.

The house
Poedy Press is the publishing imprint of Divray Koves, LLC, in New Braunfels, Texas. Our catalogue begins with leadership, told in fables, for readers in companies, agencies and institutions who want more than technique.
Before the first title, we wrote the standard it must meet, the six gates it must clear, and the agreements that keep its evaluation honest. We publish when a book is ready, not when a season demands one, so the catalogue grows slowly. If that patience produces books worth a place on your shelf, we would be glad to tell you when the first one is ready.
