Authors
The pathway to publishing with us.
Poedy Press publishes books it can defend line by line. The path for an author has two parts: the requirements a manuscript must meet, and the agreements under which we publish it.
Requirements
What a manuscript must meet
- 1
The standard
The concepts and principles a book teaches must hold against Scripture, read in the original languages. Fiction is held to the same standard, applied to what fiction does. Read the standard.
Editorial Charter - 2
The six gates
Acquisition review, substantive edit, scriptural fidelity review, adjudication where needed, copyedit and proof, release sign-off. Each closes on a written record.
One owner per gate - 3
Disclosure
Authors tell us how a manuscript was made, including any use of artificial intelligence. Tools are welcome; passing off another’s work is not. The disclosure becomes part of the agreement.
Written, with the submission - 4
Fit
Does the work belong in one of our lines, and does it do what the house is for? That is the first gate’s question, and it is asked before anything else.

Agreements
Under preparation
Our author agreement is being written now, alongside the agreements that keep our editors’ findings independent. Until it is ready we are not accepting unsolicited manuscripts. When submissions open, the agreement and the submission guidelines will be published here in full, so an author knows the terms before writing to us.
If you want to be told when that happens, write to info@poedypress.com with the subject line “Authors”.
